After the Cambridge Analytica scandal blew up TA/OCU/AC/Deco Proteste/Proteste, with its sister organisations from Euroconsumers, sent Facebook three clear demands:

  1. How will Facebook compensate affected consumers?
  2. How will Facebook compensate other consumers that could be a victim of the misuse of their data?
  3. How will Facebook put consumers managing their own data?

The feedback received was not satisfactory.

Consumers must always have control over their data and its use and get a fair part of the value created by the companies using their data. And when consumers are cheated they should be compensated.
